Diablo WoodWorkers Club - President's Message
Happy Fall! As we now enter into our sixth month of operation as a nonprofit club everyone should be very proud of what we have accomplished. Here’s just a few items of note:
- Diablo Woodworkers (DWW) became a formal nonprofit club in March 2024
- Membership now stands at 220 and still climbing
- The diversity and breadth of the club was captured by a completely new and beautiful flyer
- We hosted one major & successful club event, the Summer Picnic, and are planning the next - the Holiday Party.
- We have continued to participate in community projects supporting both a local middle school and a city
- Our monthly newsletter and website keep everyone up to date on past and future club activities, show and tell, MDAE classes, and all the DWW news that’s fit to print
- We are in process of giving two more scholarships to Laney College Wood Technology program
These things are all possible because we believe in a mission for the club contained herein and because of the many volunteers that make it happen. But we need more volunteers both in the normal running of the club and in helping for all the events that we have throughout the year. It is the volunteers who will make the club succeed in the long term. More on volunteering in this newsletter.
I would like to personally thank everyone who choose to join DWW. It’s always been a great club; it will only get better with your great support.
Thanks,
Tom
