Club Background
Our members range from beginners to seasoned professionals and all levels between. Our projects cover the full range of furniture, boats, toys and household items. Many styles are represented: classic reproductions, Shaker boxes, Windsor chairs, Krenov cabinets and a host of individual designs. Our members are skilled in many techniques: carving, woodturning, steam bending, green wood furniture to computer-assisted design, solid wood construction to hand cut veneers and many more.
We are proud of our contributions of time and money to the community and to the craft of woodworking. We have taught one day hands-on classes for school kids, built Adirondack chairs for Okizu, a camp for seriously ill children, and made windows for the summit house on Mt. Diablo and the Niles Canyon Railway. We have milled lumber from a heritage walnut tree to build benches for ARF in Walnut Creek and built a play village for bicycle safety training.
Diablo Woodworkers is headquartered in Pleasant Hill, California. Membership in the Club is open to all adults. We meet monthly either at the Pleasant Hill Education Center or online, with local and national guest speakers. Members can also attend monthly shop tours. We offer beginning and advanced woodworking classes and seminars. Classes that are co-sponsored with
Mt. Diablo Adult Education are tuition-based.
