Mayuresh is mostly self-taught, with the exception of a short stint learning from his mentor in a Hindu monastery in Hawaii. He now lives in San Francisco, and while his primary job is not (yet) in the woodworking industry, he works out of the nonprofit Mission Community Woodshop, where he teaches fine woodworking to students in addition to working on his own projects, commissions, and creations.
He also serves as Programs Director for the Bay Area Woodworkers Association. You can see some of his work on his websitewww.mayureshv.com and on Instagram @mayureshv_studio .
Topic
Mayuresh will speak about why and how he incorporates natural materials in his pieces. He will cover how he came to this particular interdisciplinary focus, how he approaches development from an esthetic and emotional perspective, and of course how he addresses more tactical concerns about how to integrate non-wood natural materials into his woodworking pieces.
