About this event
Beth and John are both engineers with graduate degrees from MIT. Beth got hooked on woodworking in middle school in Minnesota. John had some experience machining in college, and Beth introduced John to woodworking in 1991 when they were both working for NASA in Houston. They built a trestle table from a Norm Abram book before they dated, but dating soon followed. |
|
Three moves and 25 years later, they set up their first dedicated shop on the back side of their house, and got serious. They are both now out of their “normal” engineering/ management jobs and have a two-person business, Dzenitis Art and Engineering, making both speculative and commissioned furniture and sculpture out of wood, metal, and concrete.
In this shop tour, John will show his Pod Side Cabinet which can be viewed by visiting their website page at
https://www.dzenitisartandengineering.com/portfolio/cabinets/pod-side-cabinet. During the tour, John will describe some of the design and techniques that go into it. Beth will be out of town, but John may show a coffee table she has in progress, and some other pieces may be shown if there is time. |
